The exhibition carries a poetic quality through Evren Erol’s seamless transitions between nature, humanity, and space. Continuing to host leading figures of contemporary art, Odeabank’s art platform O’Art presents From Ancient Times, a solo exhibition by artist Evren Erol. Curated by Begüm Güney, the show features a sculpture and sound installation composed of 1,500 pieces, where the artist explores the ancient concept of the “Tree of Life” — a symbol to which humanity has attributed divine meaning since the beginning of history — through a contemporary lens.
For the first time, Erol presents a site-specific installation. The works reference the mythical Tree of Life, believed to be found in paradise, symbolizing immortality, health, fortune, and abundance. By approaching this universal symbol through a modern context, Erol creates a natural allegory shaped by the coexistence of semantic contrasts. Within his subconscious, he questions the physical, imaginary, and intellectual dimensions of this timeless myth, transforming his perception into a layered experience for the viewer. The exhibition ultimately unfolds as a poetic journey shaped by the fluid dialogue between nature, human presence, and spatial awareness.
