“Sandığın Gibi Değil” (Not What You Think), a solo exhibition by prominent contemporary artist Turan Aksoy, is on view at O Art, Odeabank’s art platform. Presented under three thematic sections, the exhibition explores the contradictions and dualities inherent in artistic production.
In the first room, focusing on the theme of “Individual & Collective,” works such as The Shadow of the Miniature – A Handmade Book (open view), A Portrait, Restless Self-Portrait, Upside Down and Forward, Five Soldiers Who Peed Themselves, and Subcontracted Angel are exhibited.
The second room addresses “Nature & Urban” with Aksoy’s video installation Lie and Memory, alongside his landscape paintings Kato as a Map, Munzur as Hope, and Mount Ağrı as a Border. The room also features sketches and originals from his Home and Cities series, as well as the urban image titled The Sorrow of Nothing But Itself.
The third room, themed “Reality & Surreal,” presents Aksoy’s Back Drawings, the sculptural works Dust and Rush, and AT1, offering a more abstract and spatial experience.
